Restaurant and bar insurance

Insurance built around the kitchen and the bar

Two rooms, two very different risk profiles. A cooking fire and a dram shop suit are not the same exposure, and they are not covered by the same policy.

Where general liability stops

The standard general liability form excludes liquor liability. For an operator who serves alcohol, that exclusion sits directly over the largest exposure on the premises — and it is the reason liquor liability is bought as a separate policy rather than assumed to be included.

The same logic runs through the property stack. A standard property policy excludes mechanical and electrical breakdown, so a walk-in compressor that fails overnight is one policy, and the inventory it was holding is another.
